Interest/Networking Groups

Join others who share interests or have common positions in camp and youth development for a special networking session.

Have you ever said "I wish I could learn what other camp people in my position are doing?" or perhaps wonder "I need some new ideas, I wonder what other camps do about this?" This is your chance to speak and get together with camp people who share similar interests, come from similar organizations, or may even have a similar position to you.

Formally known as "Kindred Groups", these interest/networking groups offer a unique opportunity to learn and speak with others in the field. Mid States provides time at each conference for groups to meet and share. Time will be placed on the schedule that will be set aside for "Interest Group/Networking Group Meetings". We hope that you will use this time to get together with other camp people to discuss topics that are important to you.

Perhaps a group of craft shop staff want to share their favorite projects or CIT leaders want ideas on how to help their young counselors make the transition. The possibilities are endless...you can put a discussion/sharing topic together and we will provide the meeting space and announce it in our Program Book and at the Super Sessions!

Interest/Networking Group Host Leaders Wanted!!!

Are you interested in hosting a group? It's super simple! Just email Colette Marquardt at MidstatesProgramChair@gmail.com and request a room and provide a title and short description. We will then post it to the website and publicize it in the program materials and at the conference. These are very informal and often require no pre-planning.
