Mid States Speakers: Past, Present & Future Interest/Networking Group
Friday, March 9, 2012 at 9:00PM

Mid States wouldn’t be Mid States without its speakers! Join other speakers from the conference, past and present for some evening snacks and networking. Develop new ideas, share successes, and get to know other speakers at our fantastic conference. Thinking of speaking at Mid States in the future, come and network with current and past speakers.

The Speakers’ Table has Moved!

The Speakers’ Area has moved to the Solarium – near the Indoor/Outdoor Pool. Please be sure to review the schedule for the times that the area will be staffed with volunteers and open. The Speakers’ Area will close during large group events, including all Super Sessions, so that our volunteers can participate in the community building and learning.

What will you find at the Speakers’ Area?

  • Speakers Sign In Sheet – All speakers need to sign in so we know you arrived and we don’t cancel your session accidently!
  • Your Speakers’ Packet – complete with documents, information, and a special speaker name tag!
  • Volunteers to help you with anything you need!
  • If you requested to use a Mid States LCD Projectors, you will pick it up and return it here!
  • A table for extra handouts and supplies for other conference participants.
  • Snacks – to energize you for your speaking engagement!
  • A special gift for our speakers!

Wednesday, March 7, 2012: Open: 8:00PM – 10:00PM

Thursday, March 8, 2012:
Open: 7:00AM – 9:30PM
Closed: 6:30PM – 7:45PM for Opening Super Session & Keynote Speaker

Friday, March 9, 2012: Open: 7:00AM – 6:00PM
Closed: 8:00AM – 8:30AM for Super Session

Saturday, March 10, 2012: Open: 7:00AM – 2:30PM
Closed: 11:30AM – 1:30PM for the Closing Super Session & Keynote Speaker

Hand Outs:
Evaluations every year have shown us that our attendees LOVE hand outs and find them to be a beneficial to their learning experience. We encourage you to provide handouts. Please estimate that that most sessions accommodate/draw 50-75 people. We will have a table outside the Speakers’ Area for extra hand outs and supplies to give away to our attendees.

Rooms, AV & Set Up:

  • Room Assignments can be found online on Feb. 15 th,
  • There will be a flip chart in every room. We recommend bringing your own markers.
  • Screens will be in rooms of speakers who requested them.
  • Extension cords and LCDs can be checked out at the Speakers’ Area (LCDs must be reserved in advanced).
  • All rooms (except for designated game and classroom rooms) will be set as theater. Feel free to rearrange for your session however we ask that you have participants put the chairs back in rows at the end of the session.
  • Please speak with your speaker liaison for concerns or questions about rooms, set up and audio visual needs.

Speaker Evaluation – Turn it in & get your gift!
Please take a moment after your session to complete the evaluation found in your packet. We find the information gathered from these crucial for planning our next year’s conference.
